Ontario humane society recovered, caring for one lost lobster

How much is that lobster in the window? The one with the waggly antennae?

An Ontario animal humane society has found itself caring for an unlikely little creature, after finding a lobster abandoned in a parking lot.

The Lincoln County Humane Society announced on Tuesday that it was caring for the abandoned crustacean until it could decide what the next step would be.

Officials said the lobster was found in a box, in a parking lot in St. Catharines, Ont.

“We suspect the lobster may have been used for an April Fool’s Day prank and we are looking into that possibility” executive director Kevin Strooband said. “It is inappropriate to abandon any creature, including the manner in which this one was.”

The lobster is being kept in a salt water aquarium for the time being.

For many, the idea that a humane society would care for a create that would make such a delicious meal was hard to ignore. But, all creatures great and small. And whatnot.

Indeed, we should name the little creature. I'll suggest Pinchy.
