When a police officer from Florida responded to a noise complaint last week about kids playing basketball ‘loudly,’ he not only handled it in the best way possible by joining the kids in their game but he also made a promise to return with backup for a rematch.

In a video recently uploaded to YouTube, Gainesville police officer Bobby White, also known as the “Basketball Cop” made good on his promise and returned with former NBA superstar, Shaquille O’Neal for a rematch with the kids.

It all started last week when a local resident called the police, complaining about a group of children playing basketball too loudly on a neighbourhood street.

White responded to the call and arrived at the scene, while a camera inside his vehicle captured the whole incident.

White is heard telling the kids that he had no problem with them playing basketball and then started shooting hoops with them.

Before he left, White told the kids “just try not to be too loud” and promised he’d come back with some backup for a game.

The video was later posted on Facebook, where it garnered over 15 million views.

It turns out, NBA legend, Shaq saw the story and wanted to meet White in person, according to the police department`s Facebook page.

In a new video uploaded this weekend, O'Neal is seen surprising White and telling him that “the backup is here.”

They then head to the kids` neighbourhood for a game of basketball.

O’Neal also had some life advice for the kids, before he left.

“Know how much money I made?” he’s heard saying in the video, surrounded by a group of kids. “$700 million. I did it by listening to my peers, my mommy and daddy, and focusing on school.”
