‘Happy’ at homeless shelters: A Slice of Hope serves up pizza and smiles

A Slice of Hope serves up pizza and smiles.

One charity is boosting spirits, one pizza party at a time.

Based in Manhattan, the charity A Slice of Hope throws pizza parties with live music in homeless shelters, kitchens and missions across America for one week every June.

According to the organization's fundraising page, "We feed the body with pizza. We energize the spirit with live music. We soothe the mind with a happy moment and a happy memory. When people are reminded of happier times, it gives us the strength to fight on. It reminds us that life can get better."

"One happy moment can change a life."

A Slice of Hope recently compiled highlights from some of their pizza parties into a "Happy" mashup video.

"Making happy moments is so important that it's out mission," the group posted on YouTube. "Everyone deserves to be happy."
