Portland, Ore. has a new weapon in its fight to keep the city’s sidewalks clean - the Poopmaster 6000.

Portland Mall Management Inc. is renting the sidewalk cleaning machine for a six month trial period as tackles the problem of keeping public spaces and sidewalks clear bird droppings around the city’s downtown, according to NBC News.

Apparently flocks of crows nest in the trees in the area throughout the winter and leave a humongous mess behind. So much in fact that city cleaning crews cannot keep up.

“Our crews have given us a nice, clean sidewalk,” Jerry Jenkins, with Portland Mall Management told KATU Portland. “And the crows leave a few hours later and who knew anybody cleaned.”

When the six month trial comes to an end the city could purchase their own Poopmaster for $60,000, but there’s good reason for the hefty bill.

“Years of market research and development created the name to address the problem,” President of Portland Mall Management, Mark New joked to the station.

For anyone thinking the big green machine is just a glorified street sweeper, you have obviously never sat in the driver’s seat of the model 6000, this one has a cup holder.
