Jessica Chastain has a new beau – who is Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo?

Jessica Chastain had more than one reason to smile at the Oscars on Sunday night. She was nominated for Best Actress for her role in “Zero Dark Thirty,” sure, but she was also visibly thrilled when she talked to “Extra” host Mario Lopez about her new love interest, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

Phew! With a name like that, he must be a good catch. He's have to be to snag 35-year-old Chastain, the talented star of the stage and screen. Though she brought her grandmother down the red carpet at the Oscars, Chastain revealed that she was “very, very happy” with her romantic life.

“It’s a wonderful thing when a career does so well and your personal life goes so well,” she said.

Apparently, these two have been dating seriously for a while now, but have agreed to keep the details of their relationship secret.

“He is a classy guy and completely agrees about respecting their relationship and not flaunting it,” a source told Us Weekly.

What we do know about Chastain’s leading man is that Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is a 30-year-old fashion executive, currently working for the French brand Moncler. Oh, he’s also a real-life Italian Count. Apparently, his family’s noble heritage dates back almost 1,000 years in the Italian province of Bergamo. Though, as of 2009, Milan was his listed residence, where he worked as Armani’s director of public relations.

Chastain has a rule about not dating actors – though there have been several rumours lately about her love life surrounding actors like Tom Hiddleston, Jason Clarke, and Tom Hardy – but lots of celebrities complain that they can’t meet anyone who’s not in show business. So it’s lucky, then, that de Preposulo’s job in fashion had made him lots of famous friends like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

And, apparently, he knows how to work awards season as well, as the couple made their first public appearance at the Women In Film pre-Academy-Awards party last Friday. Though the pair didn't pose for photos together, the Italian reportedly chatted up director David O. Russell and Chastain’s former "The Help" co-stars Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis.

Now that the word is out about their blossoming romance, luckily de Preposulo is bound to have a private villa tucked away in the Italian countryside that will serve as a much-needed retreat from the public eye. That is, until Chastain has yet another critically-acclaimed movie to promote.
