John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John reunite 34 years after ‘Grease’

It may have been 34 years since "Grease" couple Sandy Olsen and Danny Zuko sang "You're the One That I Want," but John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are still hopelessly devoted to each other.

The 1978 musical's stars reunited on Thursday for the Qantas Airways Spirit of Australia Party in Hollywood. And though "Sandy" has dropped the feathered hair and "Danny" skipped the pompadour, the actors were still instantly recognizable as the couple whose summer romance inspired a legion of fans.

In fact, it's a relationship that has lasted three decades, with Travolta and Newton-John supporting each other several times on the red carpet since the film was released. Their relationship was bolstered in 1983 when the duo starred in the rom-com "Two of a Kind," which led to a number of public appearances together around that time, including dinner at The Ivy and a luncheon to honour Shirley MacLaine in '85.

Seven years later, "Grease" brought Newton-John and Travolta back together again for a 20th Annual Class Reunion. Fans had to wait another 10 years for Danny and Sandy to reunite, but it was worth the wait. The duo showed up to Paramount's 90th anniversary, which included the release of six all-time musical favorites to DVD (four of which starred Travolta: 'Grease', 'Saturday Night Fever', 'Urban Cowboy,' and 'Staying Alive'; 'Flashdance' and 'Footloose' were the other two). And, at the party, Travolta and Newton-John performed "You're the One That I Want" publicly for the first time since 1978.

Watch the duo do "Grease" in 2002:

The event appeared to reacquaint the stars for good. Throughout the 2000s, the pair was often seen tearing up the red carpet together, with what appeared to be a yearly date for the annual G'Day LA: Australia gala (they both attended in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2011).

Three decades have proved that these two definitely go together.
