Boil-water advisory expected to end soon

Some Fort William First Nation households that were temporarily without water for parts of Wednesday were expected to have it back on later the same day following an equipment repair.
A boil-water advisory for the community is expected to remain in effect for another day or two until lab tests on water samples confirm the water in Fort William First Nation is safe to drink, City of Thunder Bay officials said.
The community's drinking water is supplied by the city, which draws and treats water from Lake Superior.
Wednesday's repair, which began around 8 a.m., was to fix a leaky valve behind Bannon's Gas Bar on City Road.
Before the valve could be fixed, city crews had to partially drain a section of a 24-inch water main.
City operations and maintenance supervisor Kyle Kawahara said the boil-water advisory was issued as a precaution.
Advisories are generally lifted after two separate samples taken 24 hours apart have been cleared in lab tests.
