Boys’ basketball rewind: Mooresville holds off A.L. Brown in Greater Metro tournament

Mooresville pulled off one of the season’s biggest upsets Friday. Monday, the Blue Devils avoided one of their own.

Just a few days after upsetting Lake Norman, one of the state’s top 4A teams, Mooresville held off A.L. Brown to win 71-67 in the first round of the Greater Metro 4A tournament.

Mooresville led by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter. But the Wonders made a push to get the game close.

Mooresville got 18 points from Jalen Chambers and 16 from Dylan Clark.

Jacob Conroy, Porter Ridge: In a 78-38 win over Cuthbertson, Conroy made a career-high six 3-point shots and finished with 20 points.

Jackson Fannon, East Lincoln: In an 81-67 win over North Iredell, Fannon had a game-high 23 points.

Jeremiah Howard, Concord: In a 71-57 win over West Rowan, Howard had 16 points, 16 rebounds.

Robert Magner, Pine Lake Prep: In a 65-48 win over Christ The King, Magner had a game-high 26 points.

AJ Parsley, Mooresville: In a 71-67 win over A.L. Brown in the first round of the Greater Metro 4A tournament, Parsley had 11 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.
