Brad Pitt spent the Fourth of July working on his new racing movie in England.

On July 4, the actor, 60, was seen attending the opening day of the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit in Northampton, England to continue filming his new movie, which is titled F1.

The Oscar winner could be seen wearing a racing jumpsuit and sporting sunglasses at the first day of the event ahead of the actual race on Sunday, July 7.

Pitt previously appeared at the 2023 British Grand Prix alongside costar Damson Idris to film scenes for the movie last July. Pitt and Javier Bardem, who also appears in the movie, were then seen hanging out on set in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, in January.

The production has filmed extensively at races throughout the F1 season and is working "in collaboration with Formula 1 and the F1 community, including the 10 F1 teams and their drivers, the FIA and race promoters," according to a press release. Lewis Hamilton, one of the sport's most popular drivers, is also working on the movie as a producer.

The movie sees Pitt portray "a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid," according to a description for the film. "The feature is being shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport."

During Pitt's visit to the event in July 2023, he gave Sky Sports F1 presenter Martin Brundle more information on the movie's story, sharing that his character is brought back to F1 "as kind of a Hail Mary, and hijinks ensure."

"Tell you what’s amazing about it, you’ll see the cameras come out all over the car, the shots— you’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen G forces like this. It’s really, really exciting," he said at the time.

In May, the film's producer Jerry Bruckheimer told PEOPLE at the premiere of Young Woman and the Sea that Pitt "trained for four or five months" to compete behind the wheel. "He's an amazing driver," Bruckheimer, 80, added. "In fact, some of the F1 drivers said he's a natural athlete. He really is. He's amazing in that car."

The upcoming movie, in theaters June 27, 2025, also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) directs the film.
