Brian Harman has been married to his wife, Kelly Van Slyke, since 2014.

Harman, a Savannah, Georgia native, has had quite an impressive professional golf career, having won three tournaments on the PGA Tour, including the 2023 Open Championship. In 2017, he was runner-up at the U.S. Open, too.

And through it all, Harman has had the support of his wife. The couple went public with their relationship in 2013 and married the following year. They welcomed their first child together in 2016, before having more children in 2019 and 2022.

Van Slyke and their three children are often seen supporting Harman when he’s taking part in tournaments and championships, whether they’re there in person or watching him on the TV. “They travel when they can, and I have them out as much as I can,” he said about his wife and children to the Savannah Morning News in April 2023.

In September 2023, Van Slyke traveled to Rome to watch Harman compete for Team United States in the Ryder Cup.

She’s from New York

According to Syracuse.com, Van Slyke grew up in Syracuse, New York.

She’s a SUNY Geneseo graduate and also recieved a bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 2010.

She married Harman in 2014

Harman and Van Slyke got engaged in April 2014 while they were turkey hunting, with Harman hiding the engagement ring in the inside pocket of Van Slyke’s new camouflage pants.

According to Golfweek, the couple married in December 2014 near their home in St. Simons Island, Georgia. But a December wedding wasn't the original plan for these two. Harman and Van Slyke initially intended to wed on Nov. 15, but the date clashed with a Georgia-Auburn football game and Harman — a Georgia grad — feared many of the potential guests would choose to watch the game instead of the attend wedding.

“I told her people won’t come to our wedding. If you want all the people that we like to come don’t do it on a Georgia football weekend,” Harman said.

She has three children with Harman

Harman and Van Slyke have three children together: one daughter and two sons. Daughter Cooper was born in 2016, while sons Walter and Jack were born in 2019 and 2022, respectively.

"We had two young children before Jack, so I know what it's like having small kids," Harman told the Savannah Morning News in April 2023. He described his wife as “incredible” for supporting him in his career and looking after their children while he’s working.

"I have an incredible wife, and she makes it to where I can go out and focus on my golf. That's the way our family is," he explained.

For Van Slyke's first Mother's Day in 2017, the pro golfer praised his wife on Instagram, saying that he's “amazed every day at the mother you are.”

She enjoys spending time outdoors

Like her husband, Van Slyke likes spending time outdoors. Per Syracuse.com, the couple enjoy hunting and fishing together

In 2014, Harman shared a photo of Van Slyke going trout fishing on Instagram, in which she held up a trout in a net. The following year, he shared a photo of himself and his wife holding up fish while on a boat on X (formerly known as Twitter), joking, “My wife is better looking and catches bigger fish than me.”

She supports her husband’s career

Van Slyke has consistently been supportive of her husband’s career in golf. She’s been present at many of the tournaments and championships he’s been involved in over the years, and after he won the 2023 Open Championship, he paid tribute to her and the rest of his family.

“I gotta thank my wife and family back home,” he said in his victory speech, according to The Guardian. “I sure miss them. I can't wait to get back to them tomorrow, but first, I'm going to have me a couple of pints out of this here trophy I believe!”

Van Slyke was also there to support him, along with their daughter Cooper, after he won the Wells Fargo Championship in 2017.

She's appeared on Harman's social media

Van Slyke is quite private and has no public social media profiles. However, her husband often shares photos of her with his Instagram followers.

In August 2015, he posted photos from a vacation on Instagram, one featuring him alongside his wife, and the other showing Van Slyke using a fishing rod. In another Instagram post four months earlier, he shared a photo of Van Slyke to wish her a happy birthday.

The couple first went public with their relationship on Instagram, too. In September 2013, Harman shared a photo of himself and Van Slyke standing under an umbrella, and it marked the first time he’d posted his then-girlfriend on social media.
