Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden has revealed which act she wants to win this year.

Amanda is back on the judging panel for the 17th series of the talent show, which returns to our screens tomorrow night (April 20), alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli.

Over the years, there have been a range of BGT winners including singers, dancers, comedians, magicians and even dog acts – with Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn the reigning champion.

But there is one type of act that has never won the show and, speaking to Digital Spy and other media at the press launch for the new series, Amanda reveals that she wants that to change this year.

She said: "I think this year, I would love a choir to win. I've always said that to Simon, because I want that money to be spread across lots of people and I would love to see loads of people win it.

"It's always brilliant when one or two people win it, but to have a whole choir… and I think this year, we've had some amazing choirs."

In 2020, sign language choir Sign Along With Us were runners-up, while Welsh choirs Only Boys Aloud and Côr Glanaethwy each came in third place in 2012 and 2015 respectively – but no choir has ever taken the show's top prize.

Meanwhile, fellow judge Bruno, returning for his second year on the show, was full of praise for the new batch of talented hopefuls, who are all vying to win £250,000 and a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance.

"The quality overall is so high," he said. "We've had singers, dancers, choirs, comedians. We've had some original talent. And to decide – because they're the best in their own fields – I couldn't predict.

"From a public point of view, they really are spoilt for choice. It is stunning."

Alongside the new series of BGT, there is also a new spin-off series that will air on ITVX titled BGT Reacts, which will see content creators reacting to entertaining auditions.

Britain’s Got Talent returns on Saturday, April 20 at 7.30pm, and Sunday, April 21 at 7.40pm, airing on ITV1 and ITVX.
