Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor had plans to expand their family before announcing their separation.

On the Tuesday, April 23 episode of Vanderpump Rules, the reality TV star spoke with friend and former costar Scheana Shay, 38, about growing their families. Cartwright and Taylor, who announced their separation in February after four years of marriage, are parents to son Cruz, who recently celebrated his third birthday.

“Are you and Brock going to have anymore?” Cartwright asks Shay.

“I don’t think I ever want to be pregnant again because I don’t want to chance dying," says Shay. "Are you going to start trying again soon?”

“Yeah, this month we’re officially trying,” Cartwright shares on the episode, which was filmed before her separation from Taylor.

“See I feel like when Ocean and Cruz have a sibling, then she’s going to start asking,” Shay adds, speaking of costar Lala Kent's 3-year-old daughter.

The former Vanderpump Rules stars currently appear together on the first season of Bravo's The Valley, filmed before their split, and have done guest appearances on this season of Vanderpump Rules.

In April, Cartwright spoke with PEOPLE about her separation from Taylor, sharing that her son Cruz was stuck in the middle of his parents' divorce.

"He's still at the house," Cartwright confirmed, referring to Taylor and the home they share in the Valley of Los Angeles. "And I've been staying in different Airbnbs for months at a time."

"Trust me, I told him he could stay in the Airbnb that I pay for," she continued. "But he doesn't want to leave the house. So, it's tough. But I still go back to the house whenever [Taylor isn't] there."

The reality TV star noted that if Taylor is out of the house, she'll go back. "That is my house, you know," Cartwright added. "So that part is very weird. But the space is needed, big time."

Elsewhere in the interview, Cartwright spoke of how she and Taylor are prioritizing their son amid their separation.

"We're doing a really good job going back and forth," Cartwright said of their co-parenting. "And I'll also take him to the house and play and we'll swim one day or have him play on his play set and we'll do different things."
