Brixton: Man charged with murder after 57-year-old stabbed to death in flat

A man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Brixton in the early hours of Saturday.

Peter Lalgie-Williams, 56, of Hicken Road was charged on Monday with the murder of 57-year-old Chester Goffe.

He is due to appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later on Monday.

Police were called to a flat on Hicken Road by the London Ambulance Service at about 1.30am and found Mr Goffe critically injured.

He was rushed to a south London hospital where he died a short time later.

Neighbours had told how they were awoken by noise in the aftermath of the incident.

One said: “I asked my wife to check through the window and we saw a police car.”
