New Brunswick weather: a mix of sun and snow this week

Monday will start out sunny but skies will cloud over across the province with showers or flurries developing by evening, according to CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

"I suspect we have had our last snowstorm of the month, but possibly not for the season," he said.

Coade says a weak disturbance will move across the Maritimes from the west over the next 24 to 36 hours bringing between two and five centimetres of snow.

"This feature will give us some measurable snow and as well likely some showers — particularly along the Atlantic and Fundy coasts," he said.

The trough of low pressure will move out late in the day on Tuesday and Wednesday is expected to be sunny.

"However it is April 1 and Mother Nature has a way of playing tricks. There are indications of another storm developing that will track along to the south of Nova Scotia Wednesday afternoon."

Coade says if that disturbance passes close to Nova Scotia it could bring another round of "shovelable" snow.

Thursday will be a return to sunshine and Coade expects the week will end on a mild note before another rainy disturbance moves in on Friday.
