New Brunswick weather: Scattered flurries expected across province

The day after a snowstorm swept through the province, cancelling schools and creating dangerous travelling conditions, the province will see temperatures hover around the freezing mark.

Wednesday may also bring a mix of sun and cloud to New Brunswick with highs this afternoon reaching 0 C in the south, and –4 in the north, says CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

"Now for the next couple days we will have some rather weak disturbances track across the area from the west — each one leaving behind a bit of snow in the form of flurries but amounts will generally be slight," Coade said.

Coade said temperatures will plummet on Friday, but recover on Saturday when a stronger disturbance is expected to move through.

"That will likely leave a measurable amount of snow, likely in the order of 5 to 10 cm, with fair weather returning when this one departs on Sunday," he said.

As for this week's storm, Coade says the highest official snowfall was at the Halifax airport where 46 cm was recorded.
