New Brunswick weather: sunny, windy and cold

Friday will be a mostly sunny day across New Brunswick with wind from the north and colder than normal temperatures, says CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

"The last in a series of rather weak disturbances to roll across the Maritimes this past week is now just moving out of the area to the east. Like the others it left behind a skiff of new snow," he said.

Coade says snow is expected to develop on Saturday over Nova Scotia bringing 5 to 10 cm of snow to the region.

"As this... disturbance moves out on Sunday, it will drag a trough of low pressure across the area which will have the result of making for snow on Sunday as well as Saturday," Coade said.

Temperatures will be colder than normal over the weekend but it is expected to warm up in the new week with rain on the way for Tuesday.

"As a matter of fact, it looks like we can expect some rain on Tuesday or Wednesday as afternoon temperatures will be up around the 8 or 9 degree mark in many communities."
