Céline Dion Attends Hockey Game and Has the Players 'Cracking Up' in a Recent, Rare Public Appearance
The Canadian superstar stepped out to attend a hockey game in Las Vegas and meet the players in the locker room following her appearance at the 2024 Grammys
Céline Dion charmed a handful of NHL players at a recent, rare public outing.
Shortly after the pop superstar, 55, made her first public appearance in months at the 2024 Grammys in early February, she also stepped out in Las Vegas to attend an Edmonton Oilers hockey game against the Vegas Golden Knights. A little over a month after the Feb. 6 game, the Canadian hockey team shared footage of the fun interaction that they shared with Dion in the locker room on Instagram.
In the clip, the Grammy winner (who was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022) appeared to be in high spirits as she joked about how “exciting” it is for her to meet the athletes.

“[It’s] exciting to me — those big guys, like, just on flat shoes,” said Dion, who was dressed casually yet chic in a cream sweater dress with her hair pulled back.
“I cannot imagine on skates with all the equipment going like,” she added while humorously impersonating a hockey player on the rink.
The Oilers’ left winger Zach Hyman smiled and laughed along at the “My Heart Will Go On” singer’s impression and in the caption, the team wrote, “Celine had Hyms cracking up 😂.”
Along with the brief video, the NHL team also shared a trailer for the upcoming episode of their series The Drop, which also included footage of the Canadian singer.
After shaking hands with several of the athletes, she joked, “I’ve got three boys. What do you think: I’m going to see Beauty and the Beast every night?”
“I think she’s a big personality. I think she kind of commanded the room,” one voice said of the hitmaker in the teaser.
Shortly after the game, footage also surfaced of the singer-songwriter's locker room visit on social media that fans reshared. In addition to saying hello to individual players with a big smile on her face, she and her sons — René-Charles Angélil, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 13 — also appeared to pose for photos with the team.
Since being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare autoimmune neurological disorder, and canceling her tour dates for the foreseeable future, Dion seems to have found joy in attending hockey games with her sons. For her first public appearance in three and a half years, she and her family watched the Montreal Canadiens face off against the Vegas Golden Knights in Vegas and stopped by the locker room, and she even reportedly sang “a few notes.”
Just several days before the Oilers game in February, Dion presented the coveted album of the year award at the Grammy Awards, which ended up being awarding to Taylor Swift for her 2022 album Midnights.
After the awards ceremony, a source told PEOPLE that it was an emotional experience for the “I’m Alive” singer. “It was an amazing night for her. She's doing well, and the hope is that she can continue to do more and ease back in," the insider shared.
They added, "She's taking things step by step. [Her illness] is incurable, but she's honestly doing well and looks incredible."
