CA beach home has good vibes for $6.5M: ‘South Park’ creator, supermodel have owned it

A serene California home where “South Park” creator Matt Stone lived has hit the market for $6.5 million.

The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits on a sunny corner double lot, one of the largest in Venice, with only one adjacent neighbor. Spanning 7,466 square feet, the residence at 2337 McKinley Ave. sits in the coveted Silver Triangle neighborhood.

Stone sold the property for $3.5 million in May 2020. The beach house was previously owned by a former supermodel, according to The Agency, which holds the listing.

The property is private, quiet and “bathed in an abundance of natural light,” according to the property listing.

“It’s in this very coveted area of Venice that’s very quiet and serene,” listing agent Billy Rose told The Hollywood Reporter. “There’s not much traffic whether car or foot. What makes this property unique is that it’s like the tip of a peninsula, surrounded essentially by three streets. There’s just one neighbor to the rear; it only shares one property line. So it gets tremendous light and it’s extremely private.”

The seller recently and extensively renovated the two-story residence in a Danish Modern style, according to the property listing. The details and finishes include polished and stained concrete floors, wooden posts and beams, Tischler und Sohn doors and windows done in old-growth European mahogany and handmade, custom kitchen tiles by San Francisco potter Mary Mar Keenan, according to the listing.

The master chef’s kitchen, the dining room and dual living areas look out at the landscape. The three upstairs bedrooms are generous with ensuite baths and spacious closets.

The lush, park-like grounds are accessed through accordion walls of glass. The landscape features a garden collaboration between Stephen Scanniello, rose curator at the New York Botanical Gardens, and Tom Carruth, rose curator at the Huntington Gardens.

A three-car garage with broad openings on two opposing sides and a full bathroom can be utilized as a art studio, office or guest house, the listing states.
