Cab-jackers nabbed after drving by police station

Two women who allegedly stole a taxi-cab in Prince Albert made it rather easy for police to arrest them — they were tracked on GPS and drove right past the police station.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. CST on May 15.

According to police, two women entered a cab, brandished a knife and threatened the driver.

The cab driver was able to get out of the vehicle safely and the two women drove off with the taxi.

That was on the 300 block of 7th Street East in Prince Albert.

Police said the cab was tracked via GPS and appeared to be making its way downtown.

In time, the cab turned onto 15th Street and drove past the police station.

Officers did a traffic stop at the next intersection and two women were arrested.

The pair, both 25, face numerous charges including robbery with violence, assault with a weapon and obstructing a peace officer.
