The Paul Reynolds Community Centre in St. John's is closed until further notice, after a driver in the parking lot backed into the building Monday morning.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, a 77-year-old driver backed his sedan into the building, breaking windows in the pool area.

Police, the fire department and an ambulance responded shortly after 9:30 a.m., says the RNC. Nobody in the pool was injured, say police, and neither were the driver or his 75-year-old female passenger.

No charges have been laid but police are investigating.

The City of St. John's says the pool is closed until further notice and the extent of the damage or cost to repair isn't known yet.
