CASA of Maryland reacts to Title 42 expiring as immigrants line up at the border
Maryland organizations are reacting Friday as immigrants seeking asylum are crossing into the U.S. after Title 42, a pandemic-era policy, expired. The policy allowed U.S. officials to turn away migrants who came to the southern border on the grounds of preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Central American Solidarity Association of Maryland calls what is happening now an asylum ban, which says immigrants are not welcome here.
