Celebrating Easter in SLO County? Hop to these free, family-friendly events
Spring has officially sprung, and San Luis Obispo County is gearing up for Easter fun.
That means egg hunts as well as bounce houses, carnival games, face painting and other fun treats.
All events are free and open to the public, although some activities may cost extra. Participants should bring their own baskets.
Here are some of the fun, family-friendly events planned for April. Get hopping!
Bunny Trail at Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market
What: Collect treats from downtown businesses and meet Downtown Bunny during this kid-friendly event, which coincides with the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market. Pick up free treat bags and trail maps at the check-in booth at the corner of Chorro and Higuera streets.
When: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday

Egg Hunt & Festival
What: This community event features egg hunts for all ages, including the South County’s only egg hunt for adults, sponsored by the Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department and Oceano/Five Cities Elks Lodge No. 2504, Other attractions include bunny hop races, an egg toss competition, carnival games, bounce houses, face painting, pony rides and a petting zoo, plus free hot dogs.

Cayucos Easter Dog Parade
What: Pups show off their finest springtime fashion at this parade sponsored by the Cayucos Lioness Club. The event includes a photo booth and Easter basket raffle. Commemorative T-shirts are for sale, and organizers will collect donations to buy Mutt Mitts dog waste cleanup bags available at beaches, beach access points and downtown Cayucos.

Bay-Osos Kiwanis Egg Hunt
What: Sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Bay-Osos, this event kicks off with a costume contest with prizes awarded by age group, followed by an egg hunt.
When: 10 a.m. Saturday costume contest, 11 a.m. egg hunt

Eggs-travaganza Hunt
What: Egg hunts are organized by age at this annual event sponsored by the Pismo Beach Recreation Division. Kids can also enjoy crafts, games and more.

Spring Fling
What: Kids ages 0 to 8 can kick off the day with an egg hunt, Grab lunch at one of the food trucks on site while you enjoy face painting, interactive booths, a vendor fair, live music by Ku Dog and Friends and special appearances by Mr. Bunny and Roman the Romaine. SLO Food Bank will collect donations.

Perkins Memorial Egg Hunt
What: Hunt for eggs, meet the Easter Bunny and Winnie the Pooh and enjoy games, prizes and more at this event sponsored by American Legion Post No. 432, the Rotary Club of Cambria and Miguel and Judy Sandoval. The Cambria Chamber of Commerce provides trolley rides to and from Cambria and San Simeon.
When: Noon to 2 p.m., Sunday. Trolley runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
