It's Céline Dion Week.
Canadian superstar Céline Dion turns 55 years old on March 30, so all week, we’ll be looking back at her incredible life — from the youngest of 14 kids in the small town of Charlemagne, Quebec, outside Montreal, to worldwide music icon.
Part 1: The Power of Love with René Angelil
We start with her marriage to manager-turned-husband René Angelil. The duo met when Dion was just a teen, and legend has it Angelil risked it all to manage her and banked on her success. The pair married in 1994. Angelil died in 2016.
Part 2: For the parents and the children
Céline Dion and René Angelil had three children: René Charles on Jan. 25, 2001, and twins Eddy and Nelson on Oct. 23, 2010. Dion herself is from a big family of 14 kids. Her parents, Adhémar and Thérèse, died in 2003 and 2020 respectively.
Part 3: Céline Dion's passion for fashion
Céline Dion's renaissance as a fashion darling in the 2010s was not completely unexpected — let's not forget the iconic backwards tuxedo suit from the 1999 Academy Awards red carpet. After teaming up with stylist extraordinaire Law Roach, Dion appeared at two Met Galas in stunning looks, and became a mainstay of Paris Fashion Week. Très jolie.
Part 4: A powerhouse, an icon
And finally, as the icon turns 55 years old on March 30, we take a look at what made her famous to begin with: the music, the powerhouse vocals, and the performances. And while Rolling Stone might not consider her one of the most gifted vocalists of all time, she is No. 1 in our heart.
