Chiefs fans make it clear they want running back La’Mical Perine to make final roster
Running back La’Mical Perine is with his fourth team since entering the NFL in 2020, but many Chiefs fans hope he’ll be sticking around Kansas City.
Perine, who is thought to be one of the players on the roster bubble, had a strong showing Saturday in the Chiefs’ 33-32 victory over the Cleveland Browns in a preseason game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
In addition to rushing for 32 yards in four attempts, Perine caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.
That touchdown reception was all Perine, who broke multiple tackles on his way to the end zone.

For many Chiefs fans, Perine has shown enough to make Kansas City’s roster, and they shared that sentiment on X (the artist formerly known as Twitter).
This is a bit of what Chiefs fans shared.
I'm feeling
1) Pacheco
2) McKinnon
3) Perine
I love CEH but he hasn't been productive in a long time. Prince has yet to convince, but time will tell.— KC IRONFAN (@KCIronFan) August 26, 2023
Keep Perine on the roster!! Doing much better than Clyde will offer us. #ChiefsKingdom

Is my take way off, or how do you not keep Perine and ISM at the expense of CEH and ... say ... Bushman?
— Jim Faasen (@JimFaasen) August 26, 2023
Perine is definitely making this team

Gabbert is #2 QB. Omenihu will be a great addition to DL after 6 games. Perine should be over CEH. Ross is developing into a pretty good receiving option.

Perine is making the team. Prince to the practice squad. #Chiefs

Don’t be surprised if Perine or Smith-Marsette make the 53 man roster#ChiefsKingdom #CLEvsKC

I agree with this order

Yes. I think Prince will be safe on the practice squad, and Perine has earned this.

Perine, ISM, and Shelton are all worthy enough to make Chiefs 53!
— ALT (@ALTtheChef) August 26, 2023
However ... there are others who believe Clyde Edwards-Helaire should keep his spot as the Chiefs’ No. 3 running back behind Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon.
Perine averages 3.7 YPC for his career. Why would I take him over Clyde who’s been more productive in his career and if 10 was to go down I know I could put Clyde in the starting lineup.

I get fans don’t like CEH and all. But perine has been on 4 teams in like 4 years. I get it situations matter. And yes he looks solid but he’s also playing alot more snaps than CEH this preseason and against 2-3s.

Different players have different running styles. The chiefs do CEH no favors by running stretch run zone. That isnt what he does best
— Junk (@kcjunk) August 26, 2023
CEH is the number 3 back.
