Chiefs players celebrated Super Bowl title in Las Vegas ... by gathering for brunch

In their weeklong preparation for Super Bowl LVIII while in Henderson, Nevada, the Chiefs players stayed about a half-hour’s drive from the famous Las Vegas Strip.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made it clear to the team that the focus was firmly on the San Francisco 49ers.

“This is a business trip,” Mahomes said at one point. “I told the guys that if we win I’ll bring everyone back to Vegas to celebrate.”

The Chiefs took care of the football part, defeating San Francisco 25-22 in overtime. The celebration Mahomes spoke of took place Saturday when the offensive players gathered for brunch.

This wasn’t the sort of brunch you might expect. This took place at the LAVO restaurant at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.

The mood at LAVO was a bit more, shall we say, raucous than your grandparents’ favorite brunch spot.

LAVO shared photos and videos from the event on social media. It seems the Chiefs skipped the mimosas at this brunch and went with straight champagne.

The party didn’t end there. Rolling Stone said Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and 30 Chiefs teammates later went to the XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas where Marshmello was performing.

“Kelce — wearing a J. Logan Home shirt — was also presented with a mock WWE-style championship belt that was passed from player to player through the night,” Rolling Stone wrote.

“The Chiefs held court in a center booth at the famed indoor/outdoor venue, though Kelce and some of his teammates eventually made their way to the stage to join Marshmello in the DJ booth. There, the players led the crowd in an impromptu sing-along of Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions,’ while Kelce took the mic to belt out Beastie Boys’ ‘Fight For Your Right’ (there was also plenty of Moët & Chandon spotted in the booth for the group’s late-night champagne spray).”

Kelce also sang along to a hit song by girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who is still in Australia. Take a look at some of the fun the team had:
