Chiefs’ Travis Kelce talks about challenges he’s faced on set of ‘Grotesquerie’

Judging by photos that have been shared this week on social media, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will soon pop up on television screens in a Lucky Charms commercial.

Since the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII, Kelce has spent time with girlfriend, Taylor Swift, been practicing with the Chiefs and also working in Hollywood.

Kelce earlier this year was cast for the horror/drama show “Grotesquerie” on FX. While Kelce has appeared in shows like “Moonbase 8” and “Saturday Night Live,” the FX show from creator Ryan Murphy is new ground for Kelce, because he’ll be playing a character for the first time.

During an interview Thursday on “Good Morning America,” Kelce talked about the challenges of working on “Grotesquerie.”

“I’ve been on a few shows before. I’ve only played myself in those shows, though,” Kelce told Will Reeve. “It’s definitely different portraying a character and trying to find the emotions in everything, and the understanding of a script and the scene. But it’s a challenge.

“I feel like an amateur right now, but I’m coachable. That’s one thing I know from being in sports, I am a coachable guy.”

Actress Niecy Nash-Betts, one of Kelce’s co-stars on “Grotesquerie,” has taken to Kelce, sharing photos and videos from the set.

In a story on the “Good Morning America” website, Kelce praised the people he is working with on the show. Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville are others who will appear in “Grotesquerie.”

“It’s just been awesome. … Everybody involved in terms of the actors and the directors and the writers have just helped me out so much, understanding what I’m supposed to be doing,” Kelce told “Good Morning America”. “And I’m just havin’ fun with it.”
