Chuck Schumer Accused Of Staging ‘Fake’ Father’s Day Photo Of Himself Grilling
Chuck Schumer didn’t think he would be the one getting cooked after posting a bizarre Father’s Day photo of himself on social media.
On Sunday, the Senate majority leader showed off his supposed culinary skills in a photo on X (formerly Twitter). Unfortunately, Schumer appears to have put cheese on top of seemingly raw burger patties.
“Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years, but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we’re having a barbeque with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill!” Schumer initially captioned the now-deleted photo, Fox News reports.
“Father’s Day Heaven!” he added.
Schumer’s critics immediately sharpened their knives, pointing out the obvious food safety hazards of putting cheese on an uncooked burger and accusing the senator of “staging” the photo.
This is now the greatest picture in all of politics lmao. If anything ever virtue signaled the fake bullshit everywhere in our government, it's Chuck Schumer putting cheese on a raw burger on an unlit grill right next to fully grilled hot dogs with him holding one on the spatula… pic.twitter.com/SJoTn9Dj7z

I’m not a grill master by any stretch. You don’t have to be to know Chuck Schumer has no clue what he’s doing.
This photo looks very staged and someone probably said:
“Wait, throw a slice of cheese on one of the burgers, make it look real.”
No one there knew you cook the… pic.twitter.com/4NgKAgi1Gs— Mayor (@Mayoralpodcast) June 17, 2024
I'm a #Democrat and never really cared for @SenSchumer. But I mean come on man. Who in their right mind puts cheese on a raw burger? Not only did you destroy the cheese, you also destroyed the meat. 🤦♂️ I don't blame the thousands of people that "#grilled" him over this post,… pic.twitter.com/Sk6VisTZ9r

Others dove into identity politics, complaining that Schumer was “NYC clueless about barbecuing” and hadn’t mastered what they described as “basic male tasks” and “standard American life skills.”
Senator Chuck Schumer has no idea how to do basic male tasks like run a grill.
His staff and family saw this happen and none of them thought putting cheese on a raw patty was odd. That's the type of company & advisors this man surrounds himself with.

Much has been said about Sen Schumer's now deleted tweet about his 1st experience with a backyard barbecue.
Yes, cheese on raw hamburger shows he is NYC clueless about barbecuing
But, he appears to not be using an Electric Grill, not good, since he was an anti-gas zealot
He is… pic.twitter.com/vZFzRHWJr6— Michael Clark (@midpushMike) June 17, 2024
But not everyone was unified in condemning Schumer’s grilling skills. One person — who still said they considered the New York Democrat “one of the most evil people in this whole country” — pointed out that the cheese-topped burger on his grill had “clearly” visible grill marks.
You can clearly see grill marks on the "raw burger" — seriously, are you guys blind? Am I seeing things?
Schumer is one of the most evil people in this whole country and this the "criticism" these scam artist Con, Inc. people come up with? pic.twitter.com/35xdbuGmjd— ⚡𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁💀 (@revenant_MMXX) June 17, 2024
HuffPost has reached out to Schumer for comment.
Though Schumer deleted his previous tweet, his other Father’s Day message from Sunday morning is still up on his page.
“Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!,” he wrote.
