Cinema Day 2023. How Tri-Citians can see both ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ for less than $10

The summer of 2023 has been big for movie theaters — even without fans who did a “Barbenheimer” double feature, the hustle and bustle inside cinemas across the country is picking up speed.

The momentum started in Spring, with the “Super Mario Bros. Movie,” another “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid.” June was kicked off with “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” which was a top-earning movie throughout the month. Then, both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” kept the theater doors revolving.

Didn’t get to catch any of these fan-favorite releases in 2023? Worry not, as many theaters in the Tri-Cities area are taking part in the first-annual National Cinema Day on August 27, slashing all tickets to $4.

The inaugural Cinema Day in 2022 reportedly brought in more than 8 million viewers. It was organized by the Cinema Foundation, a 501(c)3 focused on promoting and expanding the movie industry.
