Thunderstorm warning issued for southeast Manitoba

Wind, rain, and thunder are expected to roll throughout Manitoba over the weekend.

There will be increasing cloud in the Red River Valley, earlier in the west, and Manitoba will see scattered showers and the possibility of thunderstorms on Saturday. CBC meteorologist John Sauder said the action will start mid-morning with the thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon.

Winnipeg will have occasional showers with the risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon with winds gusting to 40 km/hr and a high of 25 C.

The showers are expected to start earlier in Brandon with up to 20 millimetres of rain and a high of 24 C.

In the Pas the rain will start in the morning, about 30 millimetres, with a risk of thunderstorm later in the afternoon.
