Comedian Hasan Minhaj, a Davis native, returns to Sacramento next year. Here are the details

Nationally established comedian and TV host Hasan Minhaj’s new tour dates affirm there will be another homecoming for the Davis native, who will return to Sacramento next year for his new show, “Off With His Head.”

Minhaj, 38, is set to perform 7 p.m. March 29 at SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center, according to his website. Presale tickets will be available at 10 a.m. Thursday and the general sale begins 10 a.m. Friday.

The 38-year-old hosted the Netflix series “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj” and comedy specials “Homecoming King” and “The King’s Jester,” the former of which was filmed in Davis. Minhaj won a Peabody Award for “Patriot Act.”

A New Yorker article published earlier this year alleged Minhaj exaggerated some stories, which included experiences with racism while growing up in the Sacramento area, in his stand-up routine. Minhaj pushed back against the allegations by saying the journalist omitted some of his statements and took others out of context.

The New Yorker said in a statement it stands by the story.
