Confederation Bridge lifts traffic restrictions

The Confederation Bridge is open to all traffic.

The traffic restriction for some vehicles was lifted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday after being in place for eight hours.

Some traffic had been restricted from crossing the Confederation Bridge this morning due to high winds.

The restriction went into place shortly before 7 a.m.

Restricted vehicles included automobiles towing trailers, motorcycles, high-sided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles, and buses.

Winds were projected in the 65 to 75 km/h range with gusts to 95 km/h.
