Coronation Street's Abi Webster makes apology in Amy and Aaron story

Abi Webster has made a major U-turn in Amy and Aaron's ongoing issue-based storyline in Coronation Street.
Viewers will remember that Abi has been one of the only people in Aaron's corner after Amy publicly accused him of sexual assault, even keeping him employed at the garage.
However, in Monday's (May 15) episode, Abi realised the damage her decision to stand by Aaron could be doing to his victim, Amy.
At the beginning of the latest instalment, Amy intervened when she spotted newcomer Mia stopping by the garage to visit Aaron.
Amy revealed that Aaron had raped her, but received a frosty reaction as Mia accused her of making everything up. When Mia confronted Aaron, he repeated his claims that their encounter was consensual.
Mia's anger then turned towards Amy for supposedly making up the allegations, and soon, Amy was visited at home by DS Swain to explain that an allegation of harassment had been made towards her.
DS Swain assured Amy she wouldn't pursue the complaint, but urged her to stay away from Mia. Amy was understandably furious at the injustice and chose to write a blog about her experience.
Later, family friend Abi asked Amy why she'd withdrawn her allegation against Aaron. Amy explained that she was worried about how everyone in the community would judge.
Amy made it unequivocally clear that Aaron had indeed assaulted her while she was passed out drunk, leading Abi to finally apologise for ever doubting Amy and Tracy's story.
Abi took her support even further by encouraging Amy to post her blog online so everyone could see the truth of what Aaron had done.
