Tensions in the ongoing storyline escalate when Amy becomes worried about Aaron reconnecting with his ex-girlfriend Mia.

Hoping that Mia will stay away from Aaron if she knows the truth, Amy explains that Aaron raped her after a night out. Mia reacts badly, cruelly accusing Amy of making the whole thing up.

When Mia confronts Aaron over Amy's revelation, he responds with a false version of events. Mia is fooled by his lies and she accuses Amy of unfairly dragging Aaron's name through the mud.

Later, DS Swain visits the Barlow house and tells Amy that a serious allegation of harassment has been made against her.
