Coronation Street's Chesney left devastated over Joseph in new scenes

Coronation Street's Chesney Winter-Brown faces an upsetting rejection from his son Joseph next week after the truth about the schoolboy's mysterious symptoms is finally revealed.
Chesney bitterly regrets his recent behaviour when doctors give Joseph a diagnosis during another hospital visit.
Late last year, Chesney's wife Gemma took her stepson to hospital twice when Joseph complained about feeling unwell.
Chesney failed to support Gemma when the doctors suggested that she was wasting their time and Joseph was looking for attention.

Next week, Joseph complains that he has a temperature. Although Gemma is concerned, Chesney insists that there's nothing wrong with him.
Gemma's twin brother Paul Foreman also encourages her not to rock the boat, pointing out that she could jeopardise her situation with social services if she causes a fuss.
Refusing to back down, Gemma discreetly shares her concerns with Dr Gaddas when she spots her at the café. Chesney overhears and is furious.
Later in the week, Chesney is forced to collect Joseph from school early when he receives a call about his son being unwell.

Back on the Street, Chesney and Linda Hancock – who has just returned to Weatherfield – both fuss over Joseph. Suddenly, Joseph collapses on the sofa and comes close to losing consciousness.
Joseph is admitted to hospital and diagnosed with Lyme disease, which he contracted while camping two months ago. Fortunately, the doctor confirms that he should make a full recovery.

When Joseph wakes up, Gemma delivers the happy news that social services have confirmed she can move back home.
Chesney is horrified when Joseph insists that he wants to live with Gemma rather than him, as she was the only one who believed he was ill. Can the family ever move on from this?
