Corrie star Paddy Bever shares hair transformation

Coronation Street actor Paddy Bever looks a little bit different these days.

Known for playing imprisoned teen Max Turner, Bever usually sports a long fringe with a side and back fade, but that's all in the past now.

Posting a selfie gallery onto Instagram last weekend, the soap star documented Corrie hair and make-up designer Gillian Walsh 'buzzing' his head – a look that coincides with his character's six month jail sentence.

Although most of his social media followers were kind, Jack P Shepherd (who plays Max's legal father David Platt) joked in the comment section: "Previously on prison break…"

Meanwhile, Faye Windass actress Ellie Leach gave him an ego boost with: "hot x", as a handful of additional compliments read: "Obsessed! Check youuuu", "slaying it tbh", "You do look different but it suits you x", "Oh my god YES", "SUCH A LOOK", "Wow what a difference" and "Looking very handsome if I may say so".

In other news, a month ago Corrie producer Iain MacLeod stopped by Loose Women to preview Max's surprisingly bright future.

"He's going to get a happy ending. It's important that we showed a story where somebody who's gone that far down the wrong path, there is the chance to pull them back," he began.

"The story at its heart was supposed to be about a family dealing with: 'How do you communicate with a teenager that's gone this far off-track? How do you bring them back into the fold? How do you redeem them?' So yeah, there's a happy ending. It involves a love story. He meets this incredibly unlikely love interest and it's really funny.

"He's done some awful stuff, but I do feel kind of sorry for him. I think he was groomed and he was led astray. I think that happens with a lot of teenagers out in the UK at the moment and it'd be a shame if we told a story where we just wrote them off, I suppose."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
