Crash between an electric scooter and car in Saskatoon leaves one man dead

SASKATOON, Sask. — Police in Saskatoon say a man has been arrested after a deadly crash involving a scooter Saturday morning.

Police say just after 3:00 a.m., they were called about a man reportedly lying dead on Warman Road near Circle Drive.

It was later determined a car was going north on Warman Road when it collided with a 25-year-old man riding an electric scooter.

The man ended up dying from injuries sustained in the crash.

Police say the 38-year-old man driving the car has been charged with fleeing the scene of an accident, operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and operation of a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol causing death.

Saskatoon police say the suspect was slated to appear before a justice of the peace at some point Saturday.
