Crystal Hefner Reveals She Never Signed an NDA During Her Relationship with Hugh (Exclusive)
"I don't know why we felt like we had to keep Hef's secrets for so long," Crystal says in PEOPLE's exclusive first look at an upcoming episode of 'Tamron Hall'
Crystal Hefner is continuing to open up about her relationship with Hugh Hefner.
In PEOPLE's exclusive first look at an upcoming episode of Tamron Hall, the 37-year-old entrepreneur and advocate shares that she never signed an NDA during her marriage, or while living in the Playboy Mansion. In fact, she shakes her head when asked by Hall if he ever even brought it up with her.
"I don't know why we felt like we had to keep Hef's secrets for so long," Crystal, who just released her bombshell memoir, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, says in the clip.
Crystal — who previously told PEOPLE that the Playboy lifestyle "caused people trauma" — also discusses with Hall how Girls Next Door alum Kendra Wilkinson was able to recognize what she'd been through.
Kendra, who first rose to fame at age 18 as one of Hugh's girlfriends on the reality series Girls Next Door, recently opened up to PEOPLE about how she’s only beginning to work through the damage done by her time living in his controversial Playboy world. The interview was her first since being hospitalized after suffering a panic attack in September.
"[She] realized it affected her more than she thought it did," Crystal says. "It's hard."

Crystal goes on to say that it took her "awhile" to recognize the transactional nature of her relationship with Hugh, who died at 91 in 2017.
"I was in therapy for five years," she says. "I was quiet. I didn't really speak to anyone about it, and then when I realized things were affecting me more than I thought they did, I'm like, 'I need to talk about this. I need to tell the truth.'"

Crystal, who was married to Hefner at the time of his death, is the latest of Hef's girlfriends who have spoken out about the damage caused by the man who claimed he liberated women by sparking a sexual revolution.
“I’m like, we need to get together and do an anti-Girls Next Door,” she previously told PEOPLE. “Maybe one day we’ll get along. We shared a unique experience together.”

Following the publication of Crystal's memoir, Hugh's ex-wife Kimberly released a statement slamming those who "speak their version of their idea of events in hopes of riding a wave of headline relevance" and "making a quick buck."
“I’m speaking out now for the first time about Hef because I feel compelled to speak on behalf of someone I love, who is no longer here to speak for himself,” she said. “If you want to talk about exploitation, this is exactly what these women have done with Hef."
Crystal's episode of Tamron Hall airs on Feb. 5.
