Daniel Tosh's Halifax shows protested as misogynistic, transphobic

A group that identifies as Halifax anarcho-feminists is calling for the cancellation of comedian Daniel Tosh's upcoming performances at Dalhousie.

The group says it put a sign up the roof of the Rebecca Cohn auditorium reading "Dal still welcomes misogyny. Stop Tosh." Another on Gottingen Street says "Rape is no joke. Shut down Daniel Tosh."

Tosh hosts a show on Comedy Central, Tosh.0. He often mocks videos he finds online. He's booked at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium for two shows a night on June 11 and 12.

In an email, the group says Tosh is known for making rape jokes and that his comedy is "disgustingly transphobic."

The group sent out a notice encouraging people to voice concerns to the Rebecca Cohn's managers and Dalhousie's president. The group says it's planning events this weekend.
