Death on Six Nations deemed suspicious

Provincial police believe a 49-year-old man who died a day after being found badly hurt on the side of the road in Six Nations earlier this month was a victim of foul play.

An autopsy at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto suggests Brandon Keith Hill’s death was “suspicious,” according to a joint statement issued by the OPP and Six Nations Police on Tuesday.

Police are withholding further details about the autopsy results “to protect the integrity of the investigation,” according to Const. Randi Crawford of the OPP.

Hill was found with what police called “life-threatening injuries” on the side of Fourth Line Road near Mohawk Road around 11:20 a.m. on May 10.

He was flown to hospital by air ambulance and died the next day.

Hill was a father of six and grandfather of two, according to an obituary published online.

He also leaves his parents, seven siblings and extended family.

The OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch is in charge of the investigation, with help from the coroner’s office, the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and Six Nations Police.

Anyone with information about Hill’s death or dashcam footage from the area can call Six Nations Police at 519-445-2811 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
