KOMOKA - On a splendidly sunny July 1st, the Del-Ko-Brydge Canada Day celebrations transformed Komoka into a hub of festive excitement. This cherished event, shared on a rotating basis with Delaware and Mount Brydges, drew a jubilant crowd to the parade, and to the Komoka Community Centre for opening ceremonies. The festivities commenced with a community-sponsored pancake breakfast, setting a convivial tone for the day's events. As families and friends reveled, children enjoyed face painting and a bouncy castle, embodying the event’s spirit of inclusivity and joy.

The parade was a particular highlight, featuring a vibrant array of community floats that captivated attendees. Notable were the beautifully decorated floats representing local businesses and cultural groups, which added a colourful flair to the procession. Local authorities, including Mayors, from the municipalities of Middlesex Centre and Strathroy-Caradoc, and Members of the Provincial and Federal Parliaments, participated actively, greeting the crowd and expressing their pride in the community’s strong spirit and cooperation.

As the evening approached, the skies above Komoka were illuminated by a spectacular fireworks display, bringing the day to a breathtaking close. The Del-Ko-Brydge Canada Day not only underscores the strong bonds among these neighboring communities but also reaffirms their shared pride and joy in their Canadian heritage.
