The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan stopgap funding bill championed by new Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) Tuesday—pushing back the threat of a government shutdown until the measure expires early next year. The final tally sat at 336-95, with 93 Republican members voting against the bill and 127 supporting it. 209 Democrats also lodged votes in favor of the funding bill. It now goes to the full Senate, which will likely pass it before Friday’s deadline.
