We have seen for over the past one year, how our lives have been ruled by the coronavirus pandemic. As COVID-19 continues to be a highly-discussed topic online, it’s not the only one. MAKERS India takes a look at what women of power said on social media in the past week.
The news of assault on doctors has been going around for the past one week. Actors Bhumi Pednekar and Janani extended their support towards the doctors.
Violence towards our doctors and frontline workers is completely unacceptable and quite appalling.
Our medical sector has been working tirelessly over the last 14 months, the least we can do is show our support, gratitude & compassion towards them.#stopviolenceagainstdoctors— bhumi pednekar (@bhumipednekar) June 3, 2021

Meanwhile, journalist Rohini Singh raised the issue over the faulty ventilators that have been offered in the hospitals.
Why can’t these faulty ventilators be used by bureaucrats and ruling party politicians if they still persist on defending these machines? How come their ventilators or ventilators that their families and loved ones are provided with are never faulty? https://t.co/XaXx9nYAA8

Last week the court repealed the sedition case charged against Vinod Dua. The court also stated that an individual has the right to criticize or comment upon the measures undertaken by the government, underlining the importance of protecting journalists from sedition cases.
Retired Wing Commander Anuma Acharya had her say on this.
I wish Honourable SC should have also levied penalty against the person, who planned such a malicious attempt against distorting the image of #VinodDua and causing him undue harassment! #SupremeCourtofIndia

In other news, ace tennis player Naomi Osaka withdrew from the ongoing French Open after she refused to attend the press conferences citing mental health issues. Stand-up comedian Aditi Mittal voiced her opinion on this.
Press/Tennis orgs worried they will not be able to build a mythology grudgingly around Osaka and then tear it down gleefully for their audiences. That's at least 50,000 click bait titles over Osaka's lifetime of sport that will never see the light of day.
