Dolphins re-signing OL Robert Jones, who was set to become restricted free agent

The Dolphins are re-signing offensive lineman Robert Jones, who was set to become a restricted free agent, a league source told the Miami Herald.

The contract is a one-year deal, a source said.

Jones, 25, appeared in eight games and made five starts at left guard and right guard in the 2023 season. With the uncertain future of guards Robert Hunt and Isaiah Wynn, both of whom are unrestricted free agents, Jones could be in line to compete for a starting position in 2024. He was one of multiple players who competed for the starting left guard spot last summer.

Jones originally joined the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie out of Middle Tennessee State in 2021. Over three seasons, Jones has appeared in 32 games and made 13 starts.

With Jones under contract, Miami has brought back both of its restricted free agents. The Dolphins signed defensive back Elijah Campbell to a one-year deal.

ESPN first reported the Dolphins are re-signing Jones.
