Waking up with a foggy memory of how you got home the night before is a good indication you overindulged. Waking up with a foggy memory and a series of selfies on your phone taken by the cops that tucked you in the night before is a good sign that you’re Australian.

A young man from Tasmania was lucky to wake up to just such a surprise on his phone, according to a post on the website Reddit. After consuming a few too many adult beverages, a man identified only as “Reece” was escorted home by two police officers. Apparently those officers had a sense of humour, because they decided it would be a good idea to take a selfie with their drunk ward’s cellphone.

In the Reddit post, titled, “After a blackout night, my mate woke up to a ripper selfie on his phone!”, the aforementioned selfie appears in all its glory.

Two smiling officers fill the foreground of the image. In the background between their grinning faces is young Reece, peeking out from beneath the covers and giving the “hang loose” sign with his left hand.

The image is a screen-grab from Facebook, and the profanity-laced photo caption applauds the two officers for bringing him home and then taking the cheeky selfie.

If only all black-out drunk escapades had such wholesome, happy endings.
