It may be 10 days until Christmas Day, but the Queen is celebrating her annual festive lunch today at Buckingham Palace. And it’s one royal-packed event.

Prince Harry was seen arriving at the event in a car with the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and his nanny.

It’s the first time Prince George has been photographed since pics of him cuddling his baby sister Charlotte were released in the summer, and it’s clear how much he’s grown in the past few months.

Boasting a mop of blonde curls that we can’t stop gushing over, the second youngest royal stole the show in yet another adorable get-up: A white shirt featuring a Peter Pan collar and a blue trim, paired with a knitted navy cardigan. He was safely encased in a Maxi Cosi car seat.

Kate, sandwiched between her son and his nanny, looked suitably festive in yet another recycled garment. Yesterday, the Duchess reworked a red Alexander McQueen pleated dress and today she appeared to be wearing a red button-down Luisa Spagnoli coat, which she’s been spotted in at a number of royal engagements.

Princess Charlotte wasn’t in sight, but considering she’s too young to eat anything solid yet it makes sense that she was left with a family member or another of the royal nannies while her mum and big brother tuck into their turkey.

Prince William was also absent, as he’s attending the memorial of a family friend in Wiltshire today, but Prince Charles, Camilla, Princess Eugiene, Zara Philips and a number of other members of the royal family put in an appearance at the glamourous annual event.

This is the first Christmas that Prince George will be able to get involved in; up until now he’ll of been too young to fully understand the festivities. In an interview with the Big Issue, Prince William revealed that Christmas Day could be “quite challenging” now that George has figured out how incredible the holiday is.

Come December 24, the dad-of-two predicts his son will be ridiculously excited and unable to get a wink of sleep in case he misses Father Christmas’ big arrival – just like children nationwide. “If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it’ll be good, because George will be bouncing around like a rabbit,” the Duke of Cambridge said.

“I think George will be extremely bouncy this year because he’s suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about. So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I’m looking forward to it.”
