Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD announces first head football coach at Eagle Mountain High

Eagle Mountain High School is starting its football program with an established head coach.

Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD announced Jeremy Mullins as the program’s inaugural head coach on Tuesday. Mullins, in the 2023 season, coached the Tolar Rattlers all the way to the Class 2A D1 State Championship.

Mullins will also serve as the athletic coordinator at Eagle Mountain High School, which is slated to open in 2024.

Mullins led the Tolar Rattlers to a 14-2 total record and an undefeated District 5-2A play record in the 2023 season. The Rattlers took high school football by storm with its unique tradition of dancing to Ray Wylie Hubbard’s “Snake Farm.”

Mullins posted losing seasons at Tolar in 2018, 2019 and 2020 but turned the program around in a quick and effective fashion. The team went 10-3 in 2021 and 13-1 in 2022 ahead of its state title appearance in the 2023 season.

“It has truly been an honor to represent you and to be a part of this community the past seven years,” Mullins said of Tolar on X.

As a player, Mullins was named an All-State linebacker during his time at Sunray and Merkel High School. He then continued his career at the University of Eastern New Mexico, where he led the team in tackles twice.

Prior to his time at Tolar, Mullins was an assistant at Boswell, a high school in the EMS school district. Now, he’s back in EMS ISD as a head coach.

EMS ISD has had a busy week. On Thursday, the school district announced Ricklan Holmes as Chisholm Trail’s next head football coach.
