Earthquake reported in upstate SC county. Here’s what we know

The South Carolina Emergency Management Division map of fault lines in the Palmetto State where there has been a swarm of earthquakes.

An earthquake was reported early Tuesday morning in York County near Rock Hill, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The 2.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded just after 4:00 a.m, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake happened about 1.7 miles underground., according to USGS.

No injuries or damage have been reported.

While earthquakes under a 2.5 magnitude often go unnoticed, anyone who felt shaking or heard rumbling can report it to the USGS.
