EastEnders shares exit story details for Kim and Howie

EastEnders spoilers follow.

Eastenders has revealed details of Kim Fox and Howie Danes' exit storyline.

In scenes to air next week, Kim will be left shocked when Howie reveals he's been offered a fantastic three-month job on a cruise ship.

Kim worries that female attention on the cruise may turn Howie's head. He tries to reassure her that his colleagues aren't a threat, and decides taking her to the company photo shoot is a good way for her to meet the team and lay her fears to rest.

However, Howie's plan fails when Kim meets his boss, Rory, who looks very similar to her.

Things take a surprising turn though when Kim offers some advice to the team to boost their ticket sales via a social media strategy. Impressed, Rory offers Kim a job working on the cruise ship as social media manager.

Later, Denzel gets into trouble at school and Yolande explains to Kim that he's acting out because he's scared of being abandoned by both her and Howie. Kim feels terrible that they didn't notice his dismay, so they decide to turn down the offer and stay in Walford. However, when they speak to Denzel, he reassures them he'll be fine and tells them to go as it's the opportunity of a lifetime.

But before she can leave Walford, Kim faces another hurdle as she becomes concerned for Denise's mental well-being. Kim tries to talk to Denise about her mental health and reasons that she might be experiencing PTSD after witnessing Nish nearly die in front of her.

But when Kim mentions Christmas, it triggers Denise, and she rushes off. Worried sick, Kim decides not to go on the cruise but Denise eventually convinces her that she's just upset over her problems with Jack and demands Kim goes.

While Kim will be leaving Walford for a bit, actress Tameka Empson will be back. Empson is taking a break from the soap to star in the Theatre Royal Stratford East's production of The Big Life.

The musical was co-written by Empson and she will be starring as Mrs Aphrodite in a special production which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the show's premiere on the Stratford East stage.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
