Ed Sheeran to fill in for Justin Bieber in England

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has stepped in to take over Justin Bieber’s spot at Birmingham’s upcoming Fusion Festival after the Canadian singer announced that he would be unable to fulfill his commitment. The “Thinking Out Loud” crooner confirmed the appearance on Twitter, writing, “I know I said that Wembley was my last UK show of this tour… but my mate had a cancellation on his festival so I’m filling in last minute.”

Earlier this week, Justin shared the unfortunate news with his fans that due to an “unforeseen issue,” he wouldn’t be able to appear at the Aug. 28 event. Proceeds from the weekend-long music festival benefit Prince Charles’ Prince’s Trust Charities, and the 21-year-old made sure to promise both it and his fans that he would soon make it up to them.

“To all my UK beliebers…” the singer wrote in a series of Tweets. “I look forward to the opportunity to give my UK beliebers a great show in the near future, and hope to honor my commitment to Trust at that time.” He also thanked the Prince of Wales’s charity for their “understanding.” No concrete reason was provided by Justin’s camp but fans will note that Aug 28 is an important date for the singer, as he recently revealed that on that date his first single in more than three year will be released.
