Emily Messer inaugurated as Texas Wesleyan University’s 21st president

Emily W. Messer, the first female president in the 134-year history of Texas Wesleyan University, was inaugurated on Friday during a ceremony at the Martin University Center. Messer started in July 2023, coming from Jacksonville State in Alabama, where she was the vice president for advancement and enrollment management. She has spent two decades in higher education and is the university’s 21st president.
